The scariest women in the world. Ugly girls in the eyes of men and in their opinion the ugliest boy in the world

The modern world is frighteningly diverse. It has manifestations of the beautiful and the ugly, the divine and the devilish. Truly strange subcultures are born, the adherents of which disfigure themselves beyond recognition in order to become ... recognizable. Others become victims of image or genetic mutations. In today's selection of the most terrible people in the world.

Donatella Versace - a victim of plastic surgery

The representative of the fashion house might not have been included in this list, since she was born as a cute Italian girl from Calabria. But now no one remembers her natural beauty due to dozens of plastic surgeries, some of which were very unsuccessful. The sister of the late Gianni Versace is proof that too much plastic surgery can be deformed. The Italian has not only big lips and nose. unnaturally thin, and the remnants of the skin treacherously hanging down. Sad spectacle.

Marilyn Manson is a freak by nature

The shock rocker from the USA holds the lead in the category " The scariest person on the stage". Moreover, he wants to appear ugly. A rare third-party layman saw a rock star without a “combat color”, as the outrageous showman appears in public in frightening costumes and with a ton of makeup on his face.

They say about Manson: "If you do not know this guy and, God forbid, you see him on the street at night, you will think that the fiend has broken through to Earth."

Clint Howard is not Eastwood

The American actor completes the group of the most terrible people on the planet from show business. Clint Howard's success is proof that beauty doesn't matter in the Hollywood Hills if you have the talent. The comedian has dozens of memorable roles that brought him fame and millions of dollars. Ugly Clint even won an MTV award. Not an Oscar, but not bad either.

Leopard Man Tom Leppard

The next participant in the "Circus of Freaks" is Tom Leppard, who covered his entire body with spotted patterns imitating the skin of a leopard. A strange man gracefully moves on four "legs", imitating a predator. Tom, like the other scariest people on the planet, has become a celebrity. He is often seen on television. The leopard man leads an active life, participating in various show programs and photo shoots.

Reptile Man Eric Sprague

This member of the list of the most terrible people on the planet gravitates towards reptiles. Eric Sprague chose the image of a lizard for himself. His entire body is covered with tattoos imitating scales, and false incisor teeth complete the ugly image. In addition, Eric had implants inserted above his eyes to emphasize the resemblance to reptiles. As the freak himself admits, he has to stretch the halves of the cut tongue every day so that they do not grow together.

Bull Man Etienne Dumont

Etienne Dumont is no different from the other weird people on this list. Etienne, having a higher education, and working as a literary critic in Geneva, completely covered himself with tattoos. And he seems to be happy. Journalists compare his image with a bull. Only now the ungulate has two powerful horns, Etienne has only one, and even then it is turned. It's funny to see a bull man reading Haruki Murakami's new novel in a coffee shop in the center of Geneva, isn't it?

The most terrible people on earth are not only freaks, victims of plastic surgery and genes. Not at all by choice, the following participants got into our rating.

Jason Schechterly - fire victim

Former police officer from the United States received fourth-degree burns as a result of an accident. A taxi crashed into a police car at full speed. A fire broke out, but Jason was unable to get out on his own. In the hospital, doctors had to literally peel off the burnt skin from the face of a policeman. Despite significant changes in appearance, the officer's wife did not leave him. The support of his beautiful wife and family helped Jason get out of the psychological hole and start a new life.

Yu Junchan is the hairiest man in the world

The Chinese Yu Junchan looks like the hero of the "Planet of the Apes". Being sick with a rare genetic disease, the poor fellow resembles an animal. Dense vegetation covers 96% of Junchan's body. After a terrible childhood, the Chinese decided to start a new life and loudly declared himself. At the moment he became famous for the light of his extraordinary appearance. Now Yu Junchan is a local celebrity. He is invited to talk shows and interviews. The guy says that he enjoys a new life. The only thing is that he has not yet met a girl who will love him for who he is.

Tree Man Dede Koswar

Indonesian Dede Koswar is just right to regret. At the age of 10, the boy got hurt in the forest. Since then, his life has become like a nightmare. Probably, an unknown infection got into the wound, and sores began to appear around it. After that, they hit the entire leg and even the arms. For several years, Dede watched how he turned into a monster.

Becoming a tree, the guy lost the ability to walk. A mysterious infection deprived him of marriage, work, the happiness of fatherhood and independence. To support himself, he began to travel with a freak circus.

Indonesian doctors removed the warts on Dede's body with a laser, but they soon reappeared. The young man lost faith in healing and plunged into despondency.

As you can see, the scariest people in the world have personal stories. Someone wants to be like a beast, the other wants to be no different from their peers. But each of them assures that external attractiveness is a shell, and it is more important to recognize the inner beauty of a person.

As old Hugo said, no outward beauty is complete unless it is enlivened by inward beauty. It spreads over bodily beauty like light.

“Beauty will save the world,” says the famous saying of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Alas, the fact that the classic had in mind the beauty of the soul, and not the outer shell, is sometimes forgotten. In our article, we will focus on those who definitely would not become a salvation for this world - about girls who are terrible inside.

Perhaps you were interested in an article about the most ugly women.

The most cruel women

It is generally accepted that women are generally kinder, softer and more compassionate than men. Alas, unlike most gender stereotypes, debunking this one is rather unpleasant. Before you - the most cruel women in the history of mankind, from the days of the ancient Middle Ages to the present.

Mary I Tudor

Let's start with a short excursion into the Middle Ages. Britain, 16th century, plague epidemic. In such a difficult time for the country, Mary was born, the daughter of the representative of the monarchical Tudor dynasty, Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon.

Having ascended the throne, Mary, although not by nature prone to cruelty, did not hesitate to deal with the main rival for the crown, 16-year-old Jane Gray, and her closest relatives. Then she, a zealous Catholic, began a brutal reprisal against the Protestants. By her order, about three hundred leaders of the Protestant church ended their lives at the stake. They did not even pardon those who renounced their religion in favor of Catholicism before the execution itself.

The people called Mary Tudor Bloody Mary, and the day of the accession to the throne of her successor Elizabeth I, the British, finally freed from tyranny, was greeted with rejoicing.

Elizabeth Bathory

Elizabeth Bathory is a 16th-century Hungarian aristocrat who entered the annals of history under the nickname Bloody Countess. Already today, she was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the woman who committed the largest number of murders. According to various sources, Countess Bathory tortured to death about 650 girls.

The sadist, who had a quick temper from a young age, lured her first victims into her nets in 1585, when she was 25 years old. Her servants were looking for peasant daughters in the vicinity of her castle Ceyte and invited them to the service of the countess. For commoners, this was an incredible honor, so the parents were not embarrassed that no one else saw the girls who agreed to Bathory's proposal ...

The rumor about the atrocities of the countess spread around the district only in 1602, when Bathory spread from peasant daughters to the offspring of small-scale nobles who studied etiquette at her court.

In 1610, the authorities began an investigation during which about 300 witnesses were interviewed. Terrible facts were revealed: before death, Bathory's victims were skinned alive, their flesh was bitten off, their limbs were burned with a red-hot iron. She was assisted by four servants. Witnesses claimed that Elizabeth envied the beauty and youth of young maidens.

In the same year, Bathory was imprisoned in solitary confinement with a single window for serving food, where she spent the 4 years preceding her death.

Either because of the surname, which in translation sounds like “Bathroom”, or because of the general atmosphere of medieval Eastern Europe, there are still legends about the bloody fonts that Bathory allegedly took to preserve her youth. These rumors are, of course, only folk fiction.

Daria Saltykova

Let's move from Europe to Russia of the 18th century. The era of serfdom gave rise to many landowners-tyrants, but their names fade before the cruelty of the landowner Daria Saltykova, nicknamed Saltychikha.

At the age of 26, Daria, who was known in high society as a devout philanthropist, became a widow, having inherited from her husband a good fortune and about 600 souls of serfs. At first, her bad character did not go beyond the framework of “sadism approved by society”: either she would hit the maid who had poorly washed the floor with a log, or she would burn the laundress with an iron ...

But soon her cruelty became systematic. Historians who have analyzed the archives suggest that Saltychikha committed the first murder in 1757. She frantically whipped the servants in the stable until they breathed their last, and instructed the groom and the yard girl to get rid of the corpses. Over time, the killings have become more sophisticated. For the slightest offense, a serf could be tied naked to a post in the cold, or scalded with boiling water. Saltychikha starved the maids, dragged them by the ears with red-hot tongs, and buried them alive in the ground.

The serfs tried to complain about the lady - the police received 21 complaints in 5 years. But in vain - the landowner had too high a position, and high-ranking relatives managed to hush up the scandal over and over again. In 1762, three serfs, whose wives were brutally killed by Saltychikha, broke through to an appointment with Catherine II. The Empress heeded their words and decided to arrange a show trial of Saltychikha.

The investigation continued for 6 years. Daria did not admit her guilt, but the investigation accurately proved 38 murders. There were significantly more of them, but due to the lack of sufficient evidence, most of them remained “in suspicion”. Saltykova was exiled to a tiny cell in the basement of the John the Baptist Monastery without a single window, where she spent the rest of her life - she died only in 1801.

Mary Ann Cotton

In Britain, Mary Ann Cotton is known as the country's first female serial killer. For the period from 1832 to 1873, she sent 20 people to the other world, poisoning them with arsenic. Among them were her three husbands, 10 natural and 5 adopted children, one lover and her own mother.

In 1872, Charles Cotton died, the son of her fourth husband, Frederick Cotton, who had also died shortly before. “Again stomach fever,” Mary Ann sadly told her neighbors, who had long suspected something was wrong: both Frederick and his second son died of the same ailment. The same reason the woman explained the death of previous husbands and children.

But it was not they who turned to the police, but the doctor who dissected the corpse of Charles. He found arsenic in the baby's tissues. The investigation showed that Cotton systematically sent her loved ones to the next world in order to receive insurance payments.

The royal executioner prepared for Mary Ann Cotton - it is now unknown whether on purpose or by mistake - a cruel execution: he made the noose too short, which led to a particularly painful death.

Irma Grese

It is not known what made the 19-year-old Irma Grese go to work in the Ravensbrück concentration camp - a difficult childhood in a large family, mother's suicide or father's excessive strictness ... One way or another, her cruel nature allowed her to rise in just a year to the senior warden of Auschwitz, making her the second most important person after the camp commandant.

Her favorite victims were women. She set hungry dogs on them, beat the prisoners with a whip, and could, at her own whim, shoot at any "underdog" to kill. "Angel of Death" and "Blond Devil" - that's what the prisoners of Auschwitz called her. At the same time, Irma dreamed that after the victory of the Third Reich, she would become a movie star and shine on the screens.

Torture angel Irma Grese. Documentary

Fortunately, her plans did not come true. In April 1945, Irma was taken prisoner by British troops and, during the Belsen trial, she was sentenced to death by hanging. Until the last moment, Grese remained cold-blooded: on the night before the execution, she, along with another convicted warden, sang songs, and her last word was contemptuously thrown to the executioner “Faster!”.

Ilsa Koch

With the rottenness of the soul of Irma Grese, the bestial insides of Ilsa Koch, another German devoted to the ideology of Hitler, can compete. The "Buchenwald Witch" was the wife of Karl Koch, the head of the German Buchenwald and Polish Majdanek. Koch's cruelty was legendary, but his wife surpassed even him.

Mostly tattooed prisoners fell under her sight. Decorated with outlandish designs, the skin was used by Ilsa for needlework: she made lampshades, gloves and book bindings and other shocking products from human skin.

Surprisingly, the career of Karl Koch was interrupted not by the defeat of the Nazis, but by the leadership of the SS. In 1943, the commandant was accused of corruption and shot two years later. Initially accused of complicity, Ilsa was subsequently acquitted. The girl fled to her small homeland, to Ludwigsburg, where she was arrested in June 1945 by US troops.

In 1947, Ilsa was sentenced to life imprisonment, but a couple of years later she was released - the military tribunal decided that since she did not flay the prisoners with her own hands, there was no corpus delicti in her case. But in 1951, after a wave of public protests, she again found herself behind bars. In 1967, she hanged herself in a cell at the Eichach prison in Bavaria.

Gertrud Baniszewski

Sylvia Mary Likens grew up in a not very prosperous family. Her parents were carnival workers, touring the country in the wake of the ever-roaming fairs. In 1965, the mother of Sylvia and her disabled younger sister Jenny went to jail for theft. The father could not leave the service and gave the children to the care of a housewife, Gertrude Baniszewski, promising her $20 a week. In parting, he insisted that Gertrude not stand on ceremony with the girls, since "mother was too soft with them."

Baniszewski, the mother of seven children, lived in terrible poverty, and therefore gladly agreed to the proposal of Mr. Likens. The first week passed without incident, although Sylvia and Jenny were shocked by the low level of the Baniszewski family's life - there was not even a stove in the house, so the children ate sandwiches and canned food.

But when Likens didn't send in payment for the second week, Gertrude beat both "stepdaughters" to a pulp. And although the money from their father was only a day late, from now on, a frankly black streak began in their life. Gertrude began to regularly accuse them of theft and obscenity.

To stop the bullying, Sylvia told Miss Baniszewski that her daughter Paula had become pregnant. But this led to the opposite effect: Gertrude did not believe Sylvia, and Paula became the girl's constant executor.

Then Baniszewski began to encourage friends of the children who visited them to also mock Sylvia, who by that time had become a prisoner of the basement. So, one of Paula's friends, judoka Coy Hubbard, practiced martial arts skills on her.

Sylvia spent three months in Baniszewski's basement. Gertrude, her children and their friends extinguished cigarettes on the girl, starved her, forced her to drink urine, put bottles inside her. Gertrude burned on her stomach "I'm a prostitute and I'm proud of it." On October 26, 1965, 16-year-old Sylvia died of a cerebral hemorrhage, in a state of pain shock and extreme exhaustion.

These events formed the basis of Jack Ketchum's novel The Girl Next Door, which was adapted into a film of the same name in 2007.

Sisters Gonzalez

Four Mexican sisters - Delfina, Maria del Jesus, Maria del Carmen and Maria Luisa Gonzalez - are notorious outside the country as the owners of the network of Hellish Brothels, the first of which opened its doors in 1954 in the town of San Francisco Recon.

They were looking for girls who were in a difficult life situation. As a rule, these were yesterday's children who had run away from their parents' house for one reason or another. The Gonzalez sisters pretended to be the owners of a chain of restaurants and offered them work as waitresses. But instead of the promised kitchen and a warm corner, the girls were waiting for round-the-clock sexual slavery and a greasy mattress.

The captives were given about five hours of sleep, and the rest of the time they were required to serve numerous customers. Life at such a pace was unbearable, so many girls fell ill. Those who could not continue to work were killed by the mistresses. The same fate awaited the men who, to their misfortune, took too much money to visit the priestesses of love. Captives who became pregnant were allowed to give birth, but the babies were immediately liquidated.

Of course, the residents of Recon noticed the increasing cases of missing girls. But the Gonzalez sisters regularly paid tribute to the police, and they were not touched. Moreover, one of the officers of the city police department was a relative of the sisters and helped them find new victims.

Only in 1964 did one of the newly arrived slaves manage to escape. She went straight to the police station, and the case was set in motion. Each of the sisters was sentenced to forty years in prison.

Alice Bustamant

In 2009, 15-year-old Alice Bustamant took the life of her 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth. She prepared for the murder in advance by digging a grave in the backyard.

Elizabeth was calmly returning from school when Alice, who was in wait for her, jumped out of the bushes, dragged the schoolgirl back, strangled and cut her throat, then put the body in the grave and covered it with earth.

This happened at about 6:15 pm, and by 7 pm, Elizabeth's parents were worried. The police promptly launched a search. During a survey of the local population, one of the officers suspected that Alice knew something about the missing baby and took her into circulation. Alice quickly split and showed the body of the murdered woman. Later, she admitted that she went to the crime because of a desire to find out what feelings the offender was experiencing.

During the investigation, Alice tried to commit suicide. In 2012, she was sentenced to life imprisonment, leaving her the right to parole.

Mary Bell

The chilling crime of 11-year-old Mary Bell shows that not only adults, but also children can be inhumanly cruel.

Mary and her friend Norma, who lived in the most disadvantaged area of Newcastle, were neighbors. From childhood, they were surrounded by poverty, and most of the time they spent playing in landfills without adult supervision.

Mary's family had four children, Norma's family had eleven. Bell's father posed as her uncle so as not to lose benefits for a single mother. “And who wants to work,” he said and added, “personally, I don’t need money, just enough for one pint of ale every evening.”

Betty, Mary's mother, was a wayward beauty, but from childhood she began to show mental abnormalities. For example, for a long time she refused to eat at the same table with her family. She only started eating when a plate was placed under her chair in the corner.

Mary was born when her mother was only 17 years old. And this happened after an unsuccessful suicide attempt - poisoning with pills. Four years later, Betty tried to poison her own daughter.

Mary's survival instinct taught her to build a wall between herself and the outside world. This feature, as well as violent fantasy, cruelty and a childish mind, was noted by all familiar families. Mary never allowed anyone to hug and kiss her, and she always tore the dresses and ribbons she gave her to shreds.

The future killer claimed that she dreams of becoming a nun, since they are all "good". Mary spent a lot of time reading the Bible, of which she had five pieces. In one of them, she pasted a list of all deceased relatives with dates and addresses of death.

In 1968, Mary Bell, along with Norma, strangled two boys. The first victim was 4-year-old Martin Brown. The second is 3-year-old Brian Hay, who was cut with scissors on his forehead with the letter "M" and scratched his genitals.

The crimes took place with a break of two months. During a break between them, they entered the kindergarten at night and destroyed it, leaving inscriptions on the walls: "I kill and will return soon."

At the trial, the girl said that she killed for her own pleasure. She was declared mentally deranged and convicted of manslaughter. The "corrupted seed", "child monster", "spawn of the devil", as the media called her, was released from a psychiatric hospital in 1980. She started a new life under a different name, and in 1984 gave birth to a daughter.

December 20, 1874 in England, in London, a girl was born who was destined to become the ugliest woman in the world. Marie Ann Webster received this derogatory "title" for suffering from acromegaly. Acromegaly is a disease that results in enlargement of the hands, feet, and facial bones. And as time goes by, the situation only gets worse.

The woman was born in the family of a simple worker, she was one of eight children, and therefore from the very beginning they predicted a difficult and not very happy life for her. She later became a nurse. In 1903, it would seem that luck smiled at her - she married the greengrocer Thomas Bevan and even bore him four children. But happiness did not last long: a few years later, Thomas suddenly died, leaving her with the kids in her arms without the opportunity to feed them.

To find a livelihood, Marie Ann tried to take part in the competition "The most domestic woman", but did not win, and therefore, out of desperation, she decided on a humiliating step - she became a participant in the competition for the ugliest appearance. The disease began to disfigure Marie Ann shortly after her marriage. Together with her came headaches and severe pain in the muscles, and in addition, the unfortunate woman began to lose her sight. The ad for the contest was posted by Claude Bartram, who was the European agent for the American circus, Barnum and Bailey. Bartram was given the task by his employers to find "new freaks", but he did not succeed, and he decided to advertise in the newspaper ...

Mary Ann took the first photo in her life, and this time she was waiting for victory. After that, the woman began to literally sell her face. She exhibited her imperfect features for all to see, and this earned a living. However, speaking to the public was given to a woman with difficulty. From the very beginning, she was against working as a "freak", in addition, she was afraid of being separated from her children. But Bartram persuaded her, promising a good fee and a secure life for her kids. She hesitated for a long time, but finally boarded the ship that took her to America.

The arrival of Mary Ann caused a sensation - all the newspapers wrote that "the ugliest woman in the world" had come to them.

The specific appearance of a woman interested a certain Sam Gumpertz, who allowed her to appear in a freak show on Coney Island as a freak - for the amusement of the public. It was in his show that Marie-Anne spent most of her life after the death of her husband.

At the end of her life, a woman demonstrated herself at the World Exhibition as part of the show program of the Ringling Brothers Circus.

Recall that freak circuses existed in America until the mid-60s of the last century. And until the 20s, it was a very profitable business, not only for the owners of the show, but also for its "exhibits".

Are you unhappy with your appearance? Just look at these people, and you will instantly forget about some non-existent flaws in your own body. Today we will talk about those who are usually called freaks in modern society.

1. Ulas family

In the province of Hatay, in Turkey, the Ulas family lives. Of its 19 members, five brothers and sisters move around on all fours. Scientists have come to the conclusion that they all suffer from a rare type of disability. They cannot master upright posture simply because they lack balance and stability. Interestingly, scientists still cannot give an exact explanation of why this happens. Professor Nicholas Humphrey notes that this is a prime example of a strange violation of human development. Moreover, some scientists believe that the problem of the family is proof that people can devolve, while others are of the opinion that the poor fellows suffer from some kind of hereditary disease, for example, Yuner Tan syndrome or cerebellar hypoplasia.

2. The Aceves family

This Mexican family is also called the hairiest in the world. All of its members suffer from a rare disease - congenital hypertrichosis. People with this genetic mutation have an extra piece of DNA that affects neighboring genes responsible for hair growth. This pathology is manifested in the fact that not only the whole body, but also the face becomes hairy. In the Aceves family, about 30 people - both women and men - suffer from this disease. It is difficult to imagine how much bullying from society fell on the fate of these unfortunate people ...

3. Jose Mestre

The face of this poor fellow from Portugal was "swallowed" by a tumor, the weight of which reached 5 kg. Moreover, he lived with her for 40 years. It all started when Mestre was born with a vascular malformation, also called a hemangioma. It grew uncontrollably until the age of 14. These tumors tend to increase during puberty and distort all facial features. A simple meal cost José bleeding on his tongue and gums. The tumor literally engulfed his face and completely destroyed his left eye. To date, the man has undergone a number of operations. While his face looks like it's covered in burns. But, despite this, Jose is beside himself with happiness that he finally got rid of the unfortunate tumor.

4. Unknown with a horn

Often we joke about the fact that someone has grown horns there, but we don’t even realize that there are people in the world who actually grew them. It turns out that the skin horn is a rare disease formed from horny cells. To date, the exact cause of the formation of a skin horn has not been named. Both internal (endocrine pathology, tumors, viral infection) and external (ultraviolet, trauma) factors can provoke the development of such a process. Fortunately, this can be removed with the help of surgery.

5. Bree Walker

An American TV presenter from Los Angeles lives with a congenital defect called ectrodactyly ("pincer hand"). The defect consists in the underdevelopment of one or more fingers on the hands or feet.

The personality of this young man is able to inspire many. He is the one who managed to turn his rare disease and unusual physique into a special effect, into something that will bring him fame and financial independence. Being 2 m tall and weighing just over 50 kg, the Spanish actor Javier got a lot of alien, horror roles. As early as 6 years old, Botet was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic pathology that is accompanied by elongation of the fingers and limbs, as well as high growth, combined with extreme thinness. Now he can be seen in "Crimson Peak" (where he played ghosts), in "Mother" (Javier as the main character), "The Conjuring 2" (The Hunchback) and many other films.

7. Petero Byakatonda

This boy comes from an African village in Uganda. He suffers from a genetic disease - Cruson's syndrome, which leads to abnormal fusion of the bones of the skull and face. In Cruson syndrome, the bones of the skull and face fuse too early, and the skull is then forced to grow in the direction of the remaining open sutures. This leads to an abnormal shape of the head, face and teeth. Usually this disease is treated within a few months after birth, but the 13-year-old baby lived in isolation and it is still a miracle that he survived. He is currently undergoing treatment. The main operations have already been done, thanks to which the guy's head has a shape familiar to all people.

9. Harry Eastlack

During his lifetime, this man was nicknamed "the stone man." He suffered from fibrodysplasia ossificans, a very rare disease characterized by the transformation of connective tissue into bones. Eastleck died at the age of more than forty, before that he bequeathed his skeleton to the Mutter Museum of Medical History (Philadelphia, USA).

In 2013, at the age of 62, Paul Carason, known to the whole world as "the blue man" or "Papa Smurf", died of a heart attack. And the cause of his rare disease was ... ordinary self-medication. The American at home tried to fight dermatitis, which he treated for about 10 years with the help of colloidal silver. After 1999, drugs based on it were banned in the United States. It turns out that when taking silver inside, there is a high probability of occurrence of argyrosis, a disease characterized by irreversible skin pigmentation. Blue skin prevented Carason from living, and he moved from state to state (he had to leave his native California largely because of the curious looks that locals and tourists threw at him), sought doctors and understanding, went to various talk shows, talked about himself, smoked a lot.

11. Dede Kosvara

"Tree Man", Indonesian Dede Koswara suffered from a rare disease - his immune system was not able to fight the growth of warts. This virus is not contagious, but Dede's wife left Dede, taking the children, passers-by turned away. Despite the fact that at first the doctors cut off the growths on his body, over time they reappeared. As a result, in 2016, alone and with heartache, at the age of 42, Dede Kosvara left this world.

12. Didier Montalvo

And this baby was previously called a turtle. Fortunately, in 2012, doctors saved a 6-year-old boy from a terrible shell that occupied 45% of his body. A Colombian child suffered from a rare form of congenital disease called melanocytic virus. Fortunately, the doctors removed the tumor in time, and it did not have time to become malignant.

Tessa suffers from aplasia - a congenital absence of any part of the body or organ, in this case, the nose. In addition to aplasia, the girl suffers from heart and eye problems. At 11 weeks old, she underwent cataract surgery in her left eye, but complications left her completely blind in one eye. To date, the baby is preparing for a series of nose prosthetics operations, although it is already known in advance that she will still not be able to smell smells.

14. Dean Andrews

In appearance, this Briton can be given at least 50 years old, but in fact the unfortunate man is only 20. He suffers from progeria. This is one of the rarest genetic defects, which results in premature aging of the body. By the way, the world-famous American motivational speaker Sam Burns, who died at the age of 17, had this disease. Unfortunately, at the moment there is no effective treatment for the disease, and patients affected by it die very quickly.

15. Unknown woman with Treacher Collins syndrome

As a result of this disease, patients have a craniofacial deformity. As a result, strabismus occurs, the size of the mouth, chin and ears changes. Patients have trouble swallowing. Hearing loss is not uncommon. In some cases, these defects can be corrected with plastic surgery.

16. Declan Hayton

Declan lives with his parents in Lancaster, UK. This baby has been diagnosed with Moebius Syndrome. Until now, science has not been able to fully understand the causes of the development of the disease, and, unfortunately, the possibilities of its treatment are limited. In people with such a rare congenital anomaly, facial expressions are absent, which is explained by facial paralysis.

This man has pituitary dwarfism, in other words, dwarfism. His height is only 80 cm. But this did not prevent him from being realized in life, from revealing his creative potential. Today, Vern acts in films, and he is also a famous stand-up comedian and stuntman. The Elephant Man was the name given to this man who lived in Victorian England. He lived only 27 years. Due to the deformed body, Merrick could not get a job. In addition, he had to run away from home for the reason that he was constantly humiliated by his stepmother. Soon, Joseph got a job at a local circus to participate in a freak show (freak show). For his 27 years, this young man managed so much... So, he was a gifted person. He wrote poetry, read a lot, visited theaters, collected a collection of wild flowers. With only his left hand, he collected models of cathedrals from paper, one of which is still kept in the Royal London Museum. He was taken under the care of the surgeon Frederick Reeves, thanks to whom Joseph received a room at the Royal London Hospital. In his memoirs, Dr. Reeves wrote:

“When I met this guy, I thought he was weak-minded from birth, but later I realized that he was aware of the tragedy of his own life. Not only that, he is smart, very sensitive and has a romantic imagination.”

Joseph Merrick suffered from a genetic disease called Proteus Syndrome, which causes unusual growth of the head, skin, and bones. On April 11, 1890, Joseph went to bed with his head on a pillow (because of the growths on his back, he always slept sitting up). As a result, his heavy head bent his thin neck, and he died of asphyxia.

21. Unknown Chinese boy

Polydactyly is an anatomical abnormality characterized by a larger than normal number of toes or fingers. In addition, it can be not only in humans, but also in cats and dogs. And in the photo you see the hands and feet of a boy who was born with 5 extra fingers on his hands and 6 on his feet. Doctors were able to remove extra fingers so that the child could live a full life and not feel like an outcast in society.

The 43-year-old British woman, like the elephant man Joseph Merrick (item #20), has Proteus syndrome. During her life, she underwent many operations, and she had to amputate one leg to the knee. Now her legs weigh 95 kg. The girl notes that she is proud of herself, that she managed to love her body, accept herself for who she is. Not only that, Mandy is a big smart girl. Despite her disability, she graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

This Vietnamese boy is called a fish, and all because he was born with an unknown disease, as a result of which his skin constantly peels off and forms a semblance of scales. That is why he takes a shower several times a day. Swimming is his favorite pastime. Doctors believe that "agent orange" could become the cause of the development of the disease. This is the name of a mixture of defoliants and herbicides of artificial origin. It was used by the US military during the Vietnam War.

Incredible Facts

This list will tell about ten unfortunate people suffering from severe deformities.

Some of them, with the help of modern medicine, have been able to live more or less normal lives.

Some of the stories are tragic, others are hopeful. Here are ten shocking stories:

Human deformation

10 Rudy Santos

Man is an octopus

Attached to Rudy's pelvis and abdomen another pair of arms and legs, belonging to his brother, whom Santos devoured while in the womb. Also on his body is an extra pair of nipples and an undeveloped head with an ear and hair.

Rudy became a national celebrity while traveling as part of a freak show in the 1970s and 1980s. Then he earned about 20,000 pesos per day, being the main "attraction" of the show.

It was then that he got his stage name - "octopus". Rudy was likened to God and women lined up just to stand next to him or take pictures with him.

Oddly enough, Rudy disappeared from the screen in the late 1980s and eventually has been living in poverty for more than ten years. In 2008, two doctors examined him to see if he could survive after surgery to remove unwanted body parts.

9. Manar Maged

two-headed girl

Less than a year later, Manar herself died due to a brain infection, the development of which was provoked as a result of complications that arose after the operation.

8. Minh Anh

The boy is a fish

Ming Anh is a Vietnamese orphan who was born with an unknown skin condition that causes his skin to flake massively and form scales. His condition, as expected, was provoked by a special chemical (Agent Orange), used by the US military during the Vietnam War.

This condition is associated with constant overheating of the body, so it becomes extremely inconvenient for a person to “wear” the skin without regular showering. The same orphans from the orphanage called him "fish".

In the past, Ming was abused by the staff and other children who lived in the orphanage. They tied him to the bed and prevented the boy from taking a shower to "take off" the old skin.

When Min was just a child, he met Brenda, a 79-year-old resident of the UK. Now she travels to Vietnam every year to see him. Over the years, the woman came to the boy and became his good friend.

Brenda did a lot to improve the boy's life in the orphanage. She convinced the staff not to tie him up when the next attack started, she also found him a friend who goes swimming with the child every week, which is now Min's favorite pastime.

7. Joseph Merrick

Elephant Man

Probably the most famous person on this list is Joseph Merrick, the Elephant Man. Born in 1836, the Englishman became a London celebrity and later gained fame all over the world.

He was born with Proteus Syndrome, a condition that causes unusual growths of tissue on the skin that cause the bones to deform and thicken.

Joseph's mother died when the boy was 11 years old, and his father abandoned him. Thus, he left home as a teenager, then worked in Leicester, and later became a showman. He was extremely popular and at the peak of his popularity received his stage name: "elephant man".

Due to the size of his head, Joseph had to sleep sitting up. His head was so heavy that he could not sleep lying down. One night in 1890, he tried to escape into the realm of Morpheus "like all normal people", and sprained his neck in the process.

The next morning he was found dead.

6. Didier Montalvo

Turtle boy

Didier was born in the Colombian countryside with a congenital melanocytic virus that causes the birthmark to grow at an incredibly fast pace throughout the body.

As a result of this disease, the birthmark became so large that covered Didier's entire back. Peers nicknamed Didier "turtle boy", because the incredible size of the "mole" was very similar to a turtle shell.

Apparently, Didier was conceived during an eclipse, because the locals considered him "the work of the devil." For this reason, he was prevented from interacting with other children and banned from attending the local school.

When British surgeon Neil Bulstrode learned of Didier's problem, he headed to Bogota, where operated on the child and completely removed the ill-fated "mole".

When the operation was performed, the boy was barely six years old. It was a real success, because the specialists were able to remove the entire birthmark. After the operation, Didier was admitted to school, he began to live a normal and happy life.

5. Mandy Sellars

Mandy Sellars from Lancashire, UK, was diagnosed with the same diagnosis as Joseph Merik - Proteus syndrome. This resulted in Mandy's legs becoming incredibly huge, with a total weight of 95 kg and a diameter of 1 meter.

Her legs are so big that she orders herself specially equipped shoes, which cost about $4,000. She also has a personalized car that she can drive without the help of her legs.

The tumor mass was completely removed after the first operation, the other three were sent for facial reconstruction. The operations were successful and a few weeks later José was on his way to Lisbon.

2. Dede Koswara

Man is a tree

Dede Koswara is an Indonesian man who has been suffering from a fungal infection called epidermodysplasia verruciformis for most of his life. It causes the growth of large, tough fungal growths that look very similar to tree bark.

Over time, Dede became extremely uncomfortable using his limbs, they became so large and heavy. The fungus grows throughout the body, but manifests itself mainly on the arms and legs.

In 2008, Dede underwent a course of treatment in the United States, as a result of which 8 kg of warts were removed from his body. After that, a skin graft was made on the face and hands. Unfortunately, as a result of the operation, it was not possible to stop the growth of the fungus, so another surgical intervention was performed in 2011.

There is no cure for Dede disease.

1. Alamjan Nematilaev

A fetus in a fetus is an extremely rare developmental anomaly that occurs once in 500,000 newborns. The reasons for this anomaly are unknown, but many scientists believe that this occurs in the early stages of pregnancy, when one embryo is literally "enveloped" by another.

In 2003, the school doctor noticed that the child's stomach was very swollen and sent him to the hospital. Doctors examined him and concluded that the patient had a cyst. The following week, the boy was operated on, and, to everyone's surprise, a child weighing two kilograms and 20 centimeters long was found in Alamyan's stomach.

The doctor who performed the operation noted that the boy looked as if he was six months pregnant. The boy's parents believe that the development of such an anomaly was provoked as a result of radiation after the Chernobyl disaster, but experts rejected this idea.

Alamyan fully recovered from the operation, but to this day he does not know that his twin was growing inside him.
