My flat

My name is Marina. My surname is Nesmiyan. I am 12 years old. My family and I live in Belgorod region, Borisovka district. My native village is Gruzskoe. I would like to tell about my flat because it is the best place in the world.

There are three rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom in my flat.

The living-room is very big and cosy. There are two armchairs, a sofa, a small round table, the TV and a wall unit in our living-room.

My parents’ bedroom is light and beautiful. There is a double bed, a wardrobe and a table with a mirror. My mom is a doctor and she enjoys painting the pictures.I like my mom’s pictures which are on the walls.

I have my own room. It is very bright and I like it very much. There is a soft bed, a desk with a lamp and a computer on it, a big wardrobe in my bedroom. Near the desk there is a small sofa and a bookshelf in my room where I keep my books and copybooks. I am a good singer and I like music very much, so there is a stereo and a CD-player in my room.

Our kitchen is very beautiful and convenient. It is not very big but comfortable. We have all modem conveniences in our house. We have gas, central heating, hot and cold running water. There is a fridge and a microwave oven in the kitchen. My family likes to get together there; we drink tea and talk to each other.

I adore my flat. There are many proverbs about house: “My home is my castle”, “There is no place like home”. I completely agree with these statements.

Наша гостиная очень большая и уютная комната. В гостиной находятся два кресла, диван, журнальный столик, телевизор и шкафы.

Спальня моих родителей светлая и красивая. Здесь есть двуспальная кровать, шкаф для одежды и стол с зеркалом. Моя мама по профессии врач, но она очень хорошо рисует. Мне нравятся картины мамы, которые висят на стенах.

У меня есть своя собственная комната. Она яркая и я люблю очень ее. В спальне находится мягкая кровать, письменный стол, лампа, компьютер, большой шкаф для одежды. Рядом с письменным столом стоит диван и книжная полка, где я храню книги и тетради. Я хорошо пою и люблю музыку, поэтому у меня есть стереосистема и CD-плейер.

Кухня очень красивая и удобная. Она не очень большая, но комфортная. У нас есть все современные удобства: газ, центральное отопление, холодная и горячая вода. В кухне находятся холодильник и микроволновая печь. Наша семья любит собираться за столом, пить чай и общаться.

Я очень люблю свою квартиру. Существует много пословиц о доме: «Мой дом - моя крепость», «В гостях хорошо, а дома лучше». Я абсолютно согласна с этими утверждениями.

We have a nice flat in a new block of flats. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat. The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the room we have a square-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe and some shelves.

At the opposite wall there is a piano and stool before it. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. Near the TV set there are two cosy armchairs. A small round table, a divan-bed and a standard lamp are in the left-hand corner. This small table is for newspapers and magazines. My father is used to having a rest sitting on this divan-bed reading books, newspapers, magazines or watching TV.

The bedroom is smaller than the living-room and not so light as there is only one window in it. In this room there are two beds with a bedside-table between them. An alarm-clock and a small lamp with a pink lamp-shade are on the table. In the left-hand corner there is a dressing-table with a big mirror.. In this room we have a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers to-hang clothes on. There is a thick carpet on the floor and plain light-brown curtains on the window.

The third room is my study. It is not large but very cosy. There isn"t much furniture in it, only the most necessary. It has a writing-table and an armchair before it. In the right-hand corner there is a bookcase full of books, magazines and newspapers. A small table with a radio is standing in the left-hand corner. Near it there is a sofa with some cushions. In my opinion, the study is the best room in our flat.

But the warmest place in our flat is the kitchen, I think — the place where the whole family gathers every evening not only to have supper together, but also to speak and rest. I like the English proverb: "My home is my castle" because my flat is, indeed, my castle.

В квартире три комнаты, кухня, ванная комната, прихожая. Гостиная - самая большая и удобная комната в квартире. В центре комнаты стоит квадратный обеденный стол и шесть стульев. Справа от стола стоит мебельная стенка. Она состоит из нескольких секций: серванта, шкафа, нескольких полок.

У противоположной стороны - пианино со стульчиком. Между двумя большими окнами находится маленький столик с цветным телевизором. Около телевизора два уютных кресла. В левом углу находится маленький круглый столик, диван и торшер. Этот маленький столик предназначен для газет и журналов. Папа привык отдыхать, сидя на диване, читать книги, газеты, журналы или смотреть телевизор.

Спальня меньше по размеру, чем гостиная, и не такая светлая, потому что в ней только одно окно. В этой комна-те находятся две кровати и между ними тумбочка. На тумбочке стоит будильник и небольшая лампа с розовым абажуром. В левом углу - туалетный столик с большим зеркалом. В этой комнате есть встроенный шкаф с вешал-ками для одежды. На полу лежит толстый ковер, а на окнах висят однотонные светло-коричневые шторы.

Третья комната - мой кабинет. Она небольшая, но очень уютная. В ней мало мебели, только самое необходимое. Здесь находится письменный стол с креслом. В правом углу - книжный шкаф с книгами, журналами, газетами. Небольшой столик с радио стоит в левом углу. Возле него находится диван с подушками. По-моему, этот кабинет - самая лучшая комната в нашей квартире.

Но самое теплое место в нашей квартире - это кухня, место, где вся семья собирается каждый вечер не только для того, чтобы поужинать вместе, но также и для того, чтобы поговорить и отдохнуть. Мне нравится английская пословица: "Мой дом - моя крепость", потому что моя квартира - действительно, моя крепость.

First of all I I should say that I like my house. I agree with the conclusion that any home reflects the personality of his owner and his habits. Clothes you wear or food you buy and eat are reflection as well. So, we can make up a conclusion about a man looking at his house.

I prefer a comfortable life. I think it is necessary to have all modern conveniences. It makes life easier, more enjoyable and pleasant. But the atmosphere is more important than conditions. I’d like to say some words about my flat.

We are a family of three . We live in a new five-storied block of flats. Our flat is on the 5th floor. It is very comfortable. When you enter the flat you can see a small entrance hall. On the right side you can see a closet. Then there is a corridor which is much larger than hall. On the left there is a bathroom and a lavatory in the corridor. On the opposite side you are welcome to my room. Walking along the corridor you will come to the kitchen. It is our dining and living room. My parent’s bedroom is on the left from the kitchen. We have all modern conveniences such as cold and hot running water , gas, electricity, central heating, a telephone and a chute.

Our living room is the largest one. It overlooks a park. The window is very large and there is much sunshine in the room. There you can see a sofa, a bookcase, a TV set and two armchairs. There are two pictures on the wall. If you look the dining part of the room you will see a unit of modern furniture here such as a cooker, a fridge, a cupboard, a microwave. We have a table and four chairs. There is much light. My bedroom is not large. There is a sofa, a wardrobe, a table and a chair. There is a computer on the table. Near the table there are some bookshelves. I have a small carpet at my sofa where our dog sleeps. My parent’s room is more spacious than mine. There is a large doublebed , a wardrobe, a dresser and a large mirror. Our bathroom and our lavotary are separated. They are not large but very convenient. There is a sink, a bath-tab , a mirror and a set of shelves where we keep our tooth-brushes, creams, shampoos and make-up.

So, I want to finish with the proverb: «Men make houses women make homes «. I agree with these words and in my family it is really true. My mother makes a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. My father renovates the flat from time to time. But all of us try to keep it clean.

Our house is a short walk from the trolleybus stop. We live in panel house on the fourth floor. Our flat has all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, running cold and hot water, telephone, a lift and chute.

Our flat consists of three rooms, kitchen, bathroom and a hall. First there is a small hall with a mirror and small table with a telephone on it. The three rooms of our flat are: living-room, bedroom, my study.

The floor is parquet in the rooms and linoleum in the kitchen. There is a thick carpet in the living-room on the floor. All the rooms are papered with wallpaper of a different pattern and colour.

The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. It"s a large room with a balcony. In the middle of the room there is a table with some chairs around it. There is a sofa with two armchairs and low table with a TV-set on the left-hand side of the room. On the right-hand side there is a cupboard. There is a bookcase near it.

The bedroom is smaller and not so light. There are two beds, a wardrobe, a dressing-table.

The room I like best is my study. It is nice and cosy. It has a bed, a desk and an armchair. In the right-hand corner there is a bookcase full of books, magazins, newspapers.

The kitchen is handily arranged: there is a gas-stove, a frig, a deep sink, built-in cupboards and a table that folds against the wall when not in use. I like our flat very much.

Моя квартира

Наш дом расположен недалеко от троллейбусной остановки. Мы живем в панельном доме на четвертом этаже. В нашей квартире есть все современные удобства: центральное отопление, газ, электричество, горячая и холодная вода, телефон, лифт, мусоропровод.

Наша квартира состоит из трех комнат, кухни, ванной и холла. В квартире есть маленький холл с зеркалом, телефоном на маленьком столике. Наша квартира состоит из гостиной, спальни и моей комнаты.

В комнатах - пол паркетный, а в кухне - линолеум. В гостиной на полу лежит толстый ковер. Все комнаты оклеены обоями разных цветов и рисунков.

Гостиная -- самая просторная и удобная комната во всей квартире. Это - широкая комната с балконами. Посередине комнаты стоит стол с несколькими стульями вокруг него. В комнате есть диван, два кресла и с левой стороны телевизор на подставке. С правой стороны комнаты расположен шкаф, рядом - книжная полка.

Спальня меньше и не такая светлая. В ней две кровати, платяной шкаф и туалетный столик с зеркалом.

Комната, которая мне нравится больше всего, - моя учебная. Она милая и удобная. Там есть кровать, письменный стол и кресло. В правом углу - этажерка, полная книг, журналов, газет.

Кухня удобно оборудована: здесь есть газовая плита, холодильник, глубокая раковина, встроенные шкафы, стол, который можно складывать, когда им не пользуются. Мне очень нравится наша квартира.
